Media release — Comic-Con worldwide has revealed the 2012 finalists for the will Eisner Spirit of Comics seller Award. The panel of judges choosing this year’s award included Michel Buster (Diamond Comics new account representative), Andy Mangels (best-selling author), James Robinson (award-winning comics writer), as well as Eric Stephenson (Image Comics publisher), together with last year’s Spirit award recipients, Danny Amitai as well as Yamal Sharon of Comics & Vegetables in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The five finalists for the 2012 Spirit award are:
Akira Comics, Madrid, Spain
Bridge City Comics, Portland, Oregon
Challengers Comics + Conversation, Chicago, Illinois
The Dragon, Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Happy Harbor Comics, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
This year’s award recipient will be revealed during the will Eisner Comic market awards at Comic-Con International. The awards ceremony is held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront’s Indigo Ballroom, starting at 8:00 pm.
