G.O.A.T.: Surrender by inexpensive technique (1978)

Surrender may just be my preferred rock as well as roll tune ever, as well as it only ever got to #62 on the charts.  I still get shivers each time Robin Zander snarls the line about his parents getting high as well as listening to Kiss.  It’s got ideal counter-culture lyrics, as well as music starts strong however develops with energy, anxiety, as well as force up until it explodes into a fantastic collapse at the end…”We’re all all right!  We’re all all right!”

Further listening: The apparent other inexpensive technique GOAT is I want You To want Me.  however they’re a fantastic band with a great deal of less-known, fantastic rock songs.  Like: dream Police, If You want My Love, stop this Game, method of the World, Voices…Yeah, I’m a fan.

So, where does this tune autumn in my running listing of my personal 100 preferred tunes ever?  It’s tough.  before today, right here was the list:

Layla by Derek as well as the Dominoes (1970) (link)

Better things by The Kinks (1981) (link); and: Covers of the top 30 Kinks tunes right here as well as here

I can’t truly state that this tune is much better than Layla.  as well as Surrender, Layla, as well as much better things all provide me chills…Hmm…I’m going to put it up at #2.  Interesting.  I’m a kid of the ’80s musically, however my top two are ’70s tunes.
