EPs OF COVER tunes featuring BLACK tie BRASS as well as CHAMPIONS OF breakfast

I’m taking a moment to shout out two covers EPs today, one old one new, both extremely different.

First, in January of this year new Orleans Brass Jazz band Black tie Brass released “Mostly Covered,” which is a misnomer.  It’s really three original instrumental ranging from bebop funk to slowed down hipsway as well as then three wordless covers of Kanye, Gnarls Barkley, as well as Michael Jackson.

And where BTB chosen “cool” tunes to cover, Champions of breakfast go the other way.  With a much easier sound, as well as including the lyrics, Champions of breakfast in 2008 provided “The Covers Collection.”  I just discovered it a few weeks ago, so I’m composing about it now.  CoB chose to choose a much cornier choice of tunes like just the very best (Tina Turner), Obsession (Animotion), as well as Starship’s We developed This City.

What, no “Breakfast in America?”
